Healing techniques: psychological support for children and parents during war

Since May 2023, psychologists from the International Charitable Foundation “Children of War” have been supporting families affected by Russian aggression. Specialists note that children’s needs have changed over this time: the most common issues now include emotional suppression, sleep disturbances, and panic attacks. In addition to anxiety caused by the war, adults are most concerned about parenting and adaptation challenges.

Each month, as part of the project, group sessions are held to teach healing techniques. Children learn self-help skills, while parents are taught how to better understand and support their children. Psychosocial support helps reduce stress levels, stabilize emotional states, and find effective ways to overcome difficulties in the new reality.
