On April 28, the town of Kaharlyk in Kyiv Oblast hosted the festive opening of the summer season of the children’s weekend camp «Connect», which began with a children’s sports event (spartakiad) at the Kaharlyk Youth Sports School. This camp was founded following the very first parent-child group organized by the «Children of War» Foundation back in May of last year. At that time, the foundation donated sports equipment for outdoor games, a folding table, and conducted several training sessions for volunteers who have since been working with the children.

Currently, the camp is regularly attended by more than 30 children, who had the opportunity to compete on the artificial turf provided by the Municipal Enterprise «FOK Kaharlychchyna».

• The sports and entertainment event was organized by Antonina Taran, a coach at the Kaharlyk Youth Sports School specializing in track and field. Children and volunteers from the International Ukrainian Charity Foundation «Children of War» enthusiastically ran, jumped, learned chants, and simply had fun.

All activities at the camp are provided free of charge. Before the team competitions began, gymnast Oleksandra Sobol from Bila Tserkva gave a performance. She came to Kaharlyk with her parents to share their experience and lay the groundwork for creating a similar initiative for children in their own city.
