Psychological support for Children of War: «Children of War» conducts healing Technique Groups
Report
Date of event: 19.02.2024

In February, the International Ukrainian Charity Foundation «Children of War» organized psychological support groups for children aged 10–12 in Kyiv.

  • The main goal is to help internally displaced children adapt to a new community and overcome the trauma of war.

For the past year, the foundation has been holding such monthly group sessions for families who have lost loved ones due to Russian military aggression. Evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques are used, which have already proven effective in countries affected by war.

Since adaptation involves not only displaced families but also host communities, the foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kyiv’s district social service centers and engaged partner NGOs. This approach helps create a supportive environment for children and their families.

Together we are building a strong Ukraine!
