June 30 at the Kyiv Innovation Park«UNIT.City» an award ceremony was held Ukraine Best Athletes / Ukraine Sport Media Award, which brought together leading athletes, sports journalists and official faces of Ukrainian sports. The event was organized by the Association of Sports Journalists of Ukraine, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. A similar ceremony was last held in 2021.

• The Children of War Foundation became an official partner of the event, supporting the initiative aimed at recognizing the achievements of Ukrainian athletes and media in the field of sports.

During the ceremony, the names of the best athletes and sports journalists of 2024 were announced. The event was attended by famous Ukrainian athletes: saber fencer Olga Kharlan, Olympic boxing champion Oleksandr Khyzhnyak, as well as leading industry representatives. Among the guests was the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Matviy Bidny, who spoke about the Ministry’s current work to prevent the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions.

Participation in such an event is another step of the Children of War Foundation towards supporting youth, sports, and national unity. Popularizing sports, celebrating the victories of Ukrainian athletes, and developing media coverage are extremely important for our society, especially in times of war.
